Event Guidelines

What we're looking for...

  • The SHAMBA foundation's SHAMBA Nights program provides a totally innovative and unique platform for charities to execute low-overheard fundraisers - we're looking to work with charities making a difference in our community
  • Since we're branding SHAMBA events as 'SHAMBA Nights' we're looking to work with charities comfortable with 'SHAMBA Night' as the description of their event
  • Charities are required to recognize SHAMBA as the host of their SHAMBA Night by including the SHAMBA foundation's logo and URL on all promotional materials (all SHAMBA Night promotional materials must be approved by the SHAMBA foundation before use)
  • The SHAMBA foundation offers a multitude of support services through our programs; we are looking to work with charities that are open to experiencing all of SHAMBA's offerings
  • Each application will be carefully considered - once you've submitted your application, feel free to give us a follow up call within a week to check its status. We cannot guarantee use of the space and reserve the right to refuse requests without cause

What you can expect...

Use of the SHAMBA Space includes:

  • Complementary use of the SHAMBA Space (maximum capacity of 300)
  • Consultation with SHAMBA foundation staff
  • Assistance with catering sponsorship solicitation (where possible)
  • Assistance with alcohol sponsorship solicitation (where possible)
  • Assistance with Entertainment sponsorship solicitation (where possible)
  • SHAMBA foundation volunteers (approximately 6-8)
  • Use of A/V Equipment (indoor/outdoor surround sound system equipped with two roaming mics.)
  • Promotion of the event within SHAMBA / Globalive networks
  • Inclusion of charity logo and url on SHAMBA.ca
  • SHAMBA tote bags for all guests allowing for insertion of Guest Charity and sponsor collateral/sampling materials
  • Opportunity to generate a low cost fundraiser allowing more of the money raised to go back to the cause

What we expect from you… Organization is required to:

  • Review event proposal with SHAMBA staff including promotion/ marketing plan (event proposal will need to be approved before use of the SHAMBA Space will be granted)
  • Review and execute all Guest Charity responsibilities as indicated by SHAMBA
  • Obtain final sign off from the SHAMBA foundation on any documents/ media material that mentions the SHAMBA foundation or Globalive
  • Obtain appropriate event permits
  • Meet insurance requirements required to obtain permit
  • Provide most recent audited financial statements
  • Provide a refundable security deposit for the event for any damages to the space, furniture or equipment cause by guests or others.

More information pertaining to the execution of a SHAMBA Night fundraiser will follow post the SHAMBA foundation's approval of Guest Charity application.
